Beyond Today

12 Feb

Why does the mind’s eye not see the future?

Does this fog of mystery intentionally obscure

Visions of tomorrow?

Would human intellect be unable to cope with

The naked

Landscape of truth?

Only the spirit knows the endless land beyond

Its perfection

Its tranquility

Its infinity.

Why is the mind’s eye blind to the acceptance of

Living for today?

You pose a great question. I try hard to focus on and live in the moment, one day at a time. At times though my mind wants to wander off into the past or think about the “what ifs” of the future. Most days though I enjoy each moment and day with whatever it brings to me. Hugs

Within my mind I am understanding of the meaning of the past, in my heart the scars are a continued reminder. Most times my poetry portrays my thoughts, I try to continue to focus on the good in life while expanding myself in the now and tomorrows. Great to hear from you; I always enjoy your writing. E

Profound question: “Why is the mind’s eye blind to the acceptance of Living for today?”….yes, we all seem to struggle with it…the past weighs us down…we get anxious for the future…and then we have the NOW to enjoy, but hesitate to do so! Funny creatures, we are…
