About the Author

Author Elizabeth Ann Johnson-Murphree

I am a freelance writer of fiction and non-fiction.  Born in Alabama to a Native American (Chickasaw) father and an emotionally absent mother, raised by my father, my Native American great-grandmother and an African-American woman whom were all grand storytellers.  My love of art and painting came through the teachings of my grammar school teacher Ms. Speaks, I now paint  when the well of words dry up while writing.

I have lived in Wisconsin for over fifty years, my parents and older sister have since passed away; although Alabama has many memories and I am far from my southern roots, I continue to write stories that reflect my memories.  I enjoy an active retirement, my children, grand and great grandchildren, oh yes…grand-dogs and my own four-legged companion Mason.   I  write and paint daily.

I have written books on family genealogy covering four families and many generations.

Loved your about Stmt! Such an interesting Soul! Always love to meet new Friends! Teachers are so important to our lives, more than we know. My Senior English teacher is the one that gave me the love of poetry. Loved your line “when the well of words dry up while writing.”

Thanks so much for visiting and and following my site! I will look forward to following Your too!

Hi Elizabeth. I felt a need to comment somewhere on your blog and thank you for all your likes, especially for my poetry. I see you have published yours as POD paperbacks which I hadn’t considered because of so few pages. I am publishing 3 eBooks of my poems before Christmas and I may well do a POD paperback as well now. My first novel will be out in January so I have a busy time ahead. Thanks for the idea and, of course, your support.

Thank you so very much. I POD via Createspace, I have as few as 50 pages on one of my poetry books. If you publish via Createspace it will automatically go into ebooks as well. Please let me know when you get published and I will be happy to do a full post on your work and will purchase them as well. I want to support my fellow poets/writers. You can reach me at
      Have a great week. E.
