On a Blue Bird Day

It is spring, warm breezes float through magnolia trees.  A gracious woman of the South rises from past memories; her thoughts behind the ice blue eyes. She sits on the bank of a pebbly brook under a Blue Bird sky, the scent of lilac rises from her starched dress.  She dips her fingers slowly into the cool water; she is old and life has passed her by, and the depths of her truth never known.  In her secret place of selfishness her hate for an unwanted child; she stops to ponder her own question; does she deserve the name “Mother”.

Coloring my Sunset

thHMQKSCVT

Twin butterflies,

dancing in the

sunset’s gleam

in the heated

breeze they sway,

free of their cocoons

they fly away.

Farewell they bid to a

disappearing day, earth,

air, light, the sound of the

sea; their charm always a

mystery.

Hues of a far-away spire,

they float to great heights,

gather among the stars and

disappear into the night.

The Last Chapter

thOF0MZLDMThe Last Chapter…

Life is a mystery novel, chapter after

Chapter, words painting every scene;

Leaving the mind filled with anticipation.

Each day viewed with the trusting mind

Of a child, innocence shades the memory,

Memories hide in the mind

Can time change one’s past…No, and the

Future is unknown. Life is a sailing ship

Upon the waves of what is soon to be

Tomorrow.

Where dreams may be lost upon turbulent

Seas, disparagement rains unkindly upon the

Unaware. The guilty accepts no fault or

Responsibilities for a life that they may have

Brought fear and tears.

They do not have remorse, nor do they care.

Chapter after chapter, existence torn and

Ripped apart; the guilty never feel shame, nor

Show that they have a heart.

When one reaches the last chapter and the

End draws near, one’s mind returns to a

Childlike place, a place without tears and

Peace replaces the old fears.

No need to grieve that no one cared, no need

To be sad or try to bring back the good times in

Your yesterdays; the grieving will soon end and

One will no longer yearn for the love never there.

Now one’s heart beats alone and yet sometimes

Briefly filled with grief for those hearts that were

Long ago stilled.

Did sacrifice of the one-heart change how the

Guilty chose to live when the space they occupied

Is empty and the one-heart moved on; do the spirits

Of the guilty wander forever questioning where they

Went wrong.

With the last page read and the book closed

Shut, the one-heart watch page-by- page, chapter-

By-chapter many lives unfold; and the one-heart is

Left to wonder if re-written would a new story be

Told.

Fragments of Yesterday…

thXED2FIN3

Fragments of Yesterday

In the dusty corners of yesterday are

buried fragments of humanity, ancient

history, forgotten mothers, fathers,

children, good, evil, and beyond death

a veiled ambiguous world that is still a

mystery.

A people that after millions of years of

evolution, cannot see the reality of it all;

the human race learns nothing they

endlessly continue their destructive

fall.

Blood drenched roads from barbarity to

civilization measured by the futility of the

enlightened, and those sacrificed are

forgotten.

As humans, we judge others by our own

beliefs, we recoil, we threaten, we kill, and

the blood of virtue we continue to

spill.

Millions of years from now when barren land

reaches as far as the eyes can see; will the

dusty corners of yesterday show fragments of

how we destroyed humanity, will the veiled

curtain of death no longer be a mystery.

Beyond Today…

thHXX538V8

Beyond Today…

Why does the mind’s eye not see the future?

Does this fog of mystery intentionally obscure

Visions of tomorrow?

Would human intellect be unable to cope with

The naked

Landscape of truth?

Only the spirit knows the endless land beyond

Tomorrow,

Its perfection

Its tranquility

Its infinity.

Why is the mind’s eye blind to the acceptance of

Living for today?

Awakening the Heart…

thT1HSYPH3

In anticipation of journeys end the soul

shrouds itself in love, as it travels through

the rampant winds of unknown tomorrows

aware of paths leading into happiness or

sorrow.

Created within a universe filled with mystery,

if life beyond the grave is what we believe then

why in death do we grieve? As children, our lives

are open to the wisdom of those who would be our

caretakers; we have faith that they are wise decision

makers.

If we believe that our souls descended from that

mysterious place beyond the universe created by a

loving entity; then must we accept as truth the promise

that love will surround us for all eternity?

We struggle as young adults to find our way through life

while it is our parent’s beliefs that we are taught.   To

disagree we soon find that this battle of one’s freedom in

self-belief is one not easily fought.

Fighting against rule makers is a waste of time; their beliefs

are set in stone and to change them is impossible as they

shut their eyes and close their minds, as childhood and

youth fades away it leaves a confused soul. Are we holding

onto crumbling pages filled with knowledge and truth never

told?

The desire for truth and serenity dwells in our hearts, life’s

forces us to open our eyes. We must never forget that love

and truth are never far apart.
